How Anchor Agency collects, uses, and protects your information, and how cookies are used on this site.
This policy was researched against current (2026) POPIA and GDPR requirements and reflects Anchor Agency's actual data practices, including its use of Google Analytics. It is a thorough working document, not a substitute for review by a qualified attorney — Anchor Agency should have this reviewed by a South African attorney before treating it as final, particularly the Information Officer registration requirement addressed in Section 9.
Anchor Agency (“Anchor,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is operated by Alistair Sing Key, based in the Republic of South Africa, operating the website anchoryourpresence.com (the “Site”).
This policy is written to comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Because Anchor serves clients worldwide, including in the EU and UK, we also apply the relevant requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive for those visitors.
Enquiry / “Book a Session” Form: name, email address, your current professional situation, the service you're interested in, and any message you include.
Free LinkedIn Headline Generator: your answers to four short questions about your professional background, strengths, goals, and differentiators, used only to generate your results.
60-Second Visitor Survey: anonymous. We do not collect your name, email, or any identifying information through it.
Direct Email: whatever information is contained in an email you send us, plus your email address.
Automatically Collected Information (via Google Analytics): when you visit the Site, Google Analytics collects standard technical information — including your IP address (which we configure to be anonymised), browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and referring site — to help us understand how the Site is used. This is described in full in Section 5 (Cookies) below.

The Site uses Google Analytics to understand visitor traffic and improve the Site. This section explains exactly what that means and the choices you have.
What Google Analytics does: it places a cookie on your device that tracks pages visited, time spent, and general navigation patterns on the Site. This helps us understand which content is useful and where visitors run into friction.
Consent, not just disclosure: in line with POPIA and GDPR, Google Analytics does not load or set any cookie until you've given active, informed consent via the cookie banner shown when you first visit the Site. If you decline, Analytics does not run, and no analytics cookie is set.

Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which you'll be asked again, in line with POPIA's consent-renewal requirement.
Withdrawing consent: you can change your cookie preferences at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the Site footer — withdrawal is as easy as giving consent in the first place.
International data transfer: Google Analytics is a US-based service. Where your data is transferred outside South Africa or the EU/EEA as a result, Google's own data transfer safeguards apply. If you'd prefer not to have any data processed by a US-based service, please decline the Analytics cookie category.
Enquiry and client information is stored securely and is only accessible to Alistair Sing Key. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure, and keep it only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us run the Site (e.g. hosting, email delivery, Google Analytics) only to the extent necessary for them to perform that function, or where required by law.

Under POPIA, businesses are required to designate an Information Officer — the person responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy and POPIA generally, and for handling privacy-related queries or complaints. Alistair Sing Key, as the sole operator of Anchor Agency, is the responsible contact for all privacy-related queries in the meantime (see Section 8 above). Formal registration of an Information Officer with South Africa's Information Regulator has not yet been completed and is a planned next step.
If you're visiting from outside South Africa, your information may be processed in South Africa and, where Google Analytics is used with your consent, in the United States. By using the Site, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws than your own.
Anchor Agency's services are intended for working professionals and business owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy & Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent changes. Material changes will be communicated clearly, not silently posted.
